A true “Liberation Day” for America was February 20, 2026 (Fri), not April 2, 2025 (Wed)! Yay!
Just about a week ago on a bright shiny day of Friday, February 20, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court with the 6-3 majority provided the ruling in favor of American people by deeming the tariffs “illegal” that were introduced by our President, Donald J. Trump, “under the clear guise of emergency” otherwise known as “International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA)”.
It is the Supreme Court bench consisting of 6 conservative (Republican leaning) justices and 3 liberal (Democratic leaning) justices. Even more importantly, 3 of the 6 conservative justices were appointed by the president during his first presidential term of Jan 2017- Jan 2021.
The Supreme Court ruling stipulates that such “power of taxation” resides with the U.S. Congress, not with the President. It is a great win for people of America and even the world at large. The Supreme court indeed delivered for American people.
This tariff relief by the Supreme Court can be considered as one of the biggest gifts to American people as well as businesses without a shadow of a doubt. These “illegal” tariffs were introduced on April 2, 2025 labeled as “Liberation Day” by our “madman, lunatic and megalomaniac” president. True liberation day is February 20, 2026 that rescued America from this “madman”.
Last 11 months, which is a big bulk of his second presidential term, America has lived at the edge of the seat with an unsurmountable amount of fear as well as a great deal of uncertainty arising out of the roller coaster ride of tariffs that also triggered the Wall Street to bestow the nickname – TACO – “Trump Always Chickens Out” to this madman.
By America, it means not just people, though, primarily for businesses – large and small. This “suicidal strategy” of tariffs, as we have labeled it a coupled times before, had paralyzed the entire business world and started turning us against our long-time allies. Add to that lethal mix, the president created new “perceived enemies” in his distorted and delusional worldview for his own personal agenda and profiteering.
When businesses suffer, who suffers? It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that piece out. We all do. Business employs people. It is that simple. It is such a basic kindergarten level understanding that our president is hugely deprived of or rather he simply does not care EXCEPT for himself.
Also, it is a stark reminder of a great quote by Mahatma Gandhi:
“Eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”
Neil Gorsuch, one of the Supreme Court justice with a conservative leaning, wrote in a concurring opinion of this landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on tariffs, now deemed ‘illegal’, introduced by our president to American people:
“Yes, legislating can be hard and take time. And, yes, it can be tempting to bypass Congress when some pressing problem arises. But the deliberative nature of the legislative process was the whole point of its design”
Even the dissenting judge, Brett Kavanaugh, wrote this in his opinion piece: “The tariffs at issue here may or may not be wise policy. But as a matter of text, history, and precedent, they are clearly lawful. I respectfully dissent.”
Some wise guy on the Internet said this much just as anyone amongst us with even an average amount of understanding could have said: “Congress makes the laws, the executive branch enforces the laws, and the Supreme Court interprets the laws”. I assume that the fifth grader will know this much after studying a little bit about the U.S. history. However, unfortunately for America, the “madman” sitting at the highest seat of the world thinks “He is THE Law”.
Once again, this reminds us of the Turkish proverb that we had mentioned earlier as shared by Dan Rather: “When a clown moves into a palace he doesn’t become a king, the palace instead becomes a circus”.
Enough on wisdom of our president, which there is none, that anyone with an ounce of a brain with a discerning capacity knows in America. What he has done best is what he always does best – personal attacks, insults and “insult after insult” to his countless “perceived and real enemies” including now even the Supreme Court justices that voted against tariff and effectively against him.
It is to the point that he called them: “fools and lapdogs”. Further, calling them as they are “under foreign influence”. See who is talking now who has repeatedly talked of “Russia, Russia, Russia hoax”. Is there a method to his “madness” and limit to the hypocrisy of this lunatic, let alone the conmanship?
Once again, all this is because he thinks he is above the law or rather he is THE Law.
In fact, the president even praised the three dissenting justices — Brett Kavanaugh, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas — but called those who voted for the majority “a disgrace to our nation.”
He reserved his sharpest insults for Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch — two of his own appointees who voted against his tariffs — calling them “an embarrassment to their families.”
Additionally, four of the nine Supreme Court justices were present at the State of the Union (SOTU) address merely two days ago on February 24, 2026 (Tue). One of his two appointees who voted against the tariff – Neil Gorsuch was absent then whereas the other one, Amy Coney Barrett, was present at the SOTU address to further take his abuse and insult in person. Kudos to her! All the power to her and her family!
We are with you three conservative judges who ruled against the debilitating tariffs! We feel the pain you feel just as you did for all Americans!
Clearly, his strategy is always the insult after insult to any and all that does not fit his devilish narrative regardless of their stature including the CRFB – Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget that is trying to do the right thing by speaking some sense to bring some sanity to our “out-of-control” federal government budget. The most pressing thing that our country needs get no ink and no attention at all whereas the most debilitating things get undue attention hurting many Americans in the process. Such is the sad state of our “once-great” country.
What is the bigger shame for America? When the highest court on this “Land of Law (formerly)” speaks in the favor of American people, is it these Supreme Court justices who did indeed do their job (unlike many in Congress) and provide a real justice and liberation from one “madman” with suicidal instincts who is fixated on tariffs to take down the whole country along with him into the abyss and despair? Or is it really this “madman” that America elected?
Finally, we can have a new dawn and not worry too much about the tariffs as he is bound to come back with even more retaliation like he has always done. He likes to win no matter what the cost. It is as simple as that in his peanut size brain.
If there is any sort of embarrassment or shame then it is for the three conservative judges who ruled in favor of this “madman” and effectively AGAINST America. It is hard to not think that it is only for their own self-interest and cowardice when there are 3 other conservative judges boldly ruled against him. All the power to them. If anything, it is these 3 conservative judges who served the purpose of president that are not only embarrassment to our great country, however, in essence they are really cowards and incapacitated to take the wrath of the president or even traitors by not serving the country well.
Oh, well. In the end, we could not be more liberated and elated as a result of this verdict! The Supreme Court came to our rescue via a lawsuit brought by a relatively small company, Great Learning Resources of Vernon Hills, IL, representing the sentiment of much of America, if not the whole of America with very, very few exceptions and even the world at large for that matter.
It is unfortunate that we had to share the following outlook barely a three weeks ago on February 6, 2026 via this post titled as “Gold at Outright Revolt Against the U.S. Profligacy & Crypto at Full-Fledged War with Gold That it is Losing Badly”
“The Federal Reserve (Fed) is done (read powerless). So is the POTUS (President of the United States) and his so called “MAGA – Make America Great Again” (read “fascist”) regime.
Genie is out of the bottle. Horse has left the barn.
Trump is in trouble. That is President of our great country (once upon a time), Donald J. Trump. Only made worse or rather worst by the greatest conman in the world history. He is exposed now thoroughly. His days are over. So is his base. It is finished. The game is over. Days of delusion and evil-intent of “intentional distractions” exploiting “useful idiots” over extreme focus on “real issues” can last only so long.”
This also reminds us of a saying in Gujarati language (from India and my mother tongue) that “ek divas paap no ghado futese” meaning a big pot of sins shall “implode” one day. I think that it is about halfway there and before too long, it shall implode or at least we hope that it does soon. Enough pain has been inflicted on people of America and probably the first time ever – the self-inflicted kind.
Enough uncertainty…till now at least pertaining to the tariffs. Clearly, this does not mean that all is well now. This only means that for the U.S. economy, one of the largest overhangs, is now removed. It also does not mean that it goes away completely since the very same day, one of the largest venomous snakes in the world, if not THE largest, immediately announced the new set of tariffs (first at 10% globally and then ramping up to 15% in a short few hours) under the cover of couple other laws under the “cover” of 1974 Trade Act. See additional details here.
This only means that someone who is hellbent on suicide there is only so much you can do to stop that person. Eventually, the individual goes to oblivion and with that, he or she takes the “peace” away for the people left behind in the family and friend circle. That is if it is an ordinary individual. How about if the same is true for someone who is sitting at the highest seat in the entire world? The amount of pain and damage it can cause is hard to fathom or quantify.
Such is the sad state of our current America. Despair only, all around and within such environment, it was a really nice to see these beautiful rays of hope. The only irony, though, not surprising, is the harsh treatment of the 3 dissenting conservative judges who voted against the president’s suicidal strategy. I was tempted to share the posts here that the president published on his (un) Truth (anti) Social platform, though, it does not warrant a place here. For anyone interested, he or she is encouraged to look it up. There is only so much capacity one has to bear the pain or even nonsense!
Back in 2016, this presidential candidate at the time insulted Pope, yes, Pope of Vatican and that alone meant that this individual is no good in the seat of any leadership to lead people and lead America for their benefits. That was one prime example of many even back then. My thinking at the time was that this ‘joker’ will entertain America for a while and will fade away in no time. Oh, boy, was I so wrong! We cannot help but remember the Turkish proverb once again as outlined earlier.
I can only thank God to give me that kind of intuitive feeling back then like it did to at least ‘half’ of America. Further, I can only wish that more people had the same intuitive power back then as many are awakening now with that power.
Rewind a little back to the first presidential term…
Oh, well, not only did he NOT fade away, he got even elected with the December 2016 election. Can you even believe it? I know I cannot. This remains the “single largest” surprise of my life and till this date, I am in a disbelief. Not only that, he almost got reelected back in 2020 election.
Had it not been for his big mess-up for the COVID-19 crisis handling, he surely would have been reelected. There was not much to stop him then. The biggest ‘bonus’ or ‘graft’ to Americans via his sheer stupidities was the increase in our national debt by about $5 trillion in short few years primarily owing to COVID-19 mess-up not to mention the ‘revolving door’ phenomenon that we witnessed in the executive suite during his first term. Is it too difficult to say why? Clearly, that sat the bar so low for today’s environment – disastrous second term.
Americans wised-up again in 2020 election and I was happy and proud of America. Frankly, I am up for “anyone but Trump” when it comes to the highest seat of the world. The only reason I have become more or deeply interested in politics is because of this madman. Once he fades away from the political landscape, I can only watch the show from a distance just as I have always done in my whole life. It truly does not matter much as to who wins elections – democrat or republican. They both have their own set of challenges and limitations. I have my preferences for sure, though, at the same time, I have no choice but to accept the verdict of the world no matter what it is at stake.
The presidential election of 2008 awarding a winner’s title to Barack Obama was quite a pleasant surprise of my life. What it meant to me at the time is that this country is capable of even electing a black president. Kudos to people of America!! That had been a very pleasant surprise to me at the time.
To the contrary, similar in intensity, though, in the exact opposite direction, merely 8 years later (from 2008 to 2016), people elected the biggest buffoon of the world. That is the part I still have a hard time reconciling. Can it even happen? And, yes, it did happen. Not just once. Though, twice.
Till this day I have a hard time believing it. These are two consecutive actions – in the exact opposite direction will remain as one of the biggest mysteries of my life. As a result, not only we are facing a disaster at home, however, the world over, we are a big “butt of joke” as to how can Americans elect their officials like these and how we put up with such nonsense. Clearly, as described in the earlier posts, the “madman” is surrounded by “bootlicking and sycophant goons” in his administration as well as Congress.
The end result is that America is set back now by not years, but decades. All the great progress of last half a century, if not the entire century, has been erased by one mistake, just one mistake – of electing a wrong person. It is not about the party anymore; it is about the person. And the person who has made the entire Republican party neutered and incapacitated to do the right things for the country. The Democratic party in spite of its certain limitations now clearly gaining an unsurmountable edge and the coming mid-term elections in November will speak to itself.
Well, fast forward to 2024 election now from prior elections and we all know what happened. The populace was a bit disgruntled with the inflation wreaking havoc on ordinary Americans during prior 4 years, so they gave a chance to the “convicted felon”… once again to the fellow who was a mastermind of racking up the debt by additional $5 trillion on top of the mounting pile of crushing debt that we already were facing. Did I mention millions of lives lost via mishandling of COVID-19 crisis? Nay…that does not count anymore as we do not care for or value human lives any longer in America. Human rights and ‘Big Brother’ mentality is only for preaching the world, not practicing here at home. Forget about human lives, even so called ‘values’ do not matter anymore.
Coming back to the current times…big and routine insults left and right have been the norm by this so called ‘leader’ that nearly half of America seems to have been immune of, desensitized. It is a tone-deaf set of population when it comes to the true value set, which is why the ‘other’ half of America is fuming and going thru extreme pain and agony.
For me personally, as well, it is the same level of pain for merely witnessing sheer lunacy that goes on these days in our ‘once great’ country. Like many Americans, I have a hard time believing that is this the same America that we knew of. We need so much “more light over darkness” and “more love over hatred” to get to the original goal of our founding fathers to strive to make it a perfect union.
For the past one year, the business world has had been literally paralyzed by the ‘stupidest’ decision of the century in the entire world by one man alone – any major political leader barring Adolf Hitler killing millions of Jews. Finally, the business folks also get to breathe a sigh of a relief…not completely, however, their major strangulation part is over. It truly frees up the business world and leaders to plan for their future unlike being subject to the ever-changing whims of our lunatic president.
Clearly, the real solution to solve the concocted or even a real problem and incentives to the business world for more manufacturing and jobs here at home in America is a much different and deeper topic that we may delve into at some point. It is beyond comprehension of the kindergartner bully, the most incompetent leader ever, sitting at the highest seat of the world.
In short, it is a multi-year plan to properly “retool” America that takes a lot of time, effort, incentives, money and wisdom of our elected leaders in conjunction with the business leaders, not just ‘shooting from the hip’ random solution from the crackhead high on megalomania using a blunt weapon of tariff neutered by ever changing policies and bullying.
Even, tariffs if enacted slowly, smartly and prudently may do a part of the job, though, certainly not in this self-destructive manner that turns us against our own friends, allies and main trading partners. It can only happen with the biggest idiot on this face of a beautiful earth. There is a lot to learn from China as it does many more things right than we do here at home, however, in a sheer jealousy, not just rivalry or a true competition, we have made them a perceived enemy. The height of the hypocrisy only comes to haunt us, not help us.
I am really glad to see that America is slowly awakening, however, at times it feels too painful and too disappointing as the big bulk of populace still appears to be sleeping. Unfortunately, it is little too slow and little too late. As a result, we have no choice but to pay the price for it and we are all paying for it already.
That is of course with the exception of few ‘elites’ – the very same feeling that gave a rise to the phenomenon of ‘Trumpism’ in the first place. This is the president that will go down in the history as one of the worst for our country and at par with Hitler with the difference being one took human lives whereas the other took ‘livelihoods’ for millions with the added bonus of inflicting so much pain.
Let us pray to God to save us all from the evil around us. Amen!
